There were a group of singers they were specialized on singing these songs are called “Wandhibhatta”. These songs were capable of expressing the power, exploit, skills in the battlefields, generous, wise and the amiable of the kings and lords. There can be seen several fiction stories, which were written based on these exaggerations, they are “Parakumba Siritha”, “Sri Naamaya”, and “Parangi Hatana”.Historical books revealed that ,some percussion instruments like “Udakki”, “ Pantheru”, Drums, and “Hand drums” were used to sing. According to the folklore kings were granted immense treasures ,and ranks those who sung the songs. Melodies of these songs were created by south indian musicians, because on that occasion our kings had a strong relationship between south india and Sri lanka. But there are few songs   which are related to the Gami gee ,in the era of Kotte and Mahanuwara found as “Dunuwila hatana”, “Parakumba siritha”.
